Betty Speary
Betty K. Speary, 81, of Gladwin passed away April 12, 2007 at her home after a long illness. She was born September 11, 1925 in Filbert, West Virginia to Fred and Cora (Hill) Curley.
Betty was a homemaker and a custodian for the Beaverton Schools where she retired after 15 years of service. She moved to Gladwin in 1946 from West Virginia.
She married Clarence Robert Speary on February 10, 1947 in Standish, Michigan. He predeceased her in 1999.
She is survived by her 7 daughters, Linda (Joe) Myers of Tampa, FL, Evelyn (George) Govitz, Lee Hawkins and Rebecca Clayton all of Gladwin, Nancy (Jim) Reaves of Flint, Betty (Bob) Lions of Gladwin, Brenda Wood of St Helen; her son Robert (Lisa) Speary of Gladwin; 24 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; great-grandchild, Justin; brother, Denton Curley; and her sisters, Bernice and Gertrude.
Funeral services were held on Monday, April 16 at Hall- Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin with Daniel Sykes officiating. Burial took place at Midland Memorial Garden in Midland.
