Marion Smith
BRIEF ILLNESS IS FATAL
Marion A. Smith, 57, of Gladwin, died Saturday, January 2, following a brief illness.
A veteran of World War II, he was born in Attica, Lapeer County, June 6, 1907, and came to
Gladwin 20 years ago from Pontiac. He was married to the former Louise Hunt, of Gladwin,
March 26, 1944 in Pontiac. He was employed at the Dow Chemical Company in Midland at the
time of his death. Prior to that he had worked for the Gladwin County Road Commission.
Survivors include his wife, Louise; two sisters, Mrs. Guy Ridley of Gladwin, and Mrs.
Thomas Kennedy of Detroit; one brother, Leon of California. Private funeral services were
held Monday at 5 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home with the Hall Funeral Home with the Rev. Franz
A. Ollerman officiating. Interment was in Highland Cemetery Tuesday at 10 a.m.
