Emily Smith
Emily “Mickey” M. Smith, 87, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007 at St. Mary's Mercy in Livonia after a long illness She was born on April 20, 1919 in Chatham, Ontario, to Harry and Annie (Miller) Murphy.
She married Gordon Smith on Aug. 3, 1951 in Angola, Indiana Mickey had lived in Gladwin county since 1980, previously residing in Livonia. She worked as a secretary for Cardinal West Real Estate in Livonia. She was a member of the Livonia Elks #2246, loved bowling, golf and baking cookies.
She is survived by her son, Randall and Mary Ellen Bell-Smith of Royal Oak; two nieces, Pat Shaw and Donna Murphy; one nephew, Keith Seltz of Gladwin; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Smith and Charlotte Sutherland of Gladwin; and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents, and her husband, Gordon, in 1990.
Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Pastor Brad Withrow officiated. Burial was at Ridge Cemetery in Gladwin.
