Charles Smith
SERVICES HELD FOR CHAS E. SMITH
Funeral services for Charles E. Smith, 86, were held last Saturday afternoon from the Hall Funeral Home. The Rev. J. P. Hollopeter, of the Beaverton Methodist church officiated. Burial was made in the Dale cemetery. Mr. Smith was born on July 1, 1866 in Bath. He married Louise Fairchild, who preceded him in death in 1937. He had been a resident of Beaverton and vicinity for the past 55 years. At the time of his death, on Thursday, June 26, he was making his home with his son, Hugh Smith, in Beaverton.
Surviving are three sons, Kenneth, of Montana, Hugh, of Beaverton, and Edmund C., of Detroit; two daughters, Norma Loveless, of Flint and Arlee Loveless of Gladwin; four sisters, Myrtle Rodman, Alma Coe, Maude Elliott and Liddia Burgie, all of Clare; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
