ROGER SIMRAU KILLED IN VIETNAM ACTION
Gladwin County's first casualty in Vietnam was reported last week end. Word was received Saturday, Nov. 20, that Sp/4 Roger A. Simrau, 24, was killed in Vietnam on Nov. 17. The information indicated that he was in hostile action on a search and destroy operation when killed.
Roger is the son of Mrs. Mae Simrau, of Gladwin, and the late Henry Simrau. In addition to his mother, he is survived by three brothers and eight sisters. He graduated from the Gladwin High School in 1960. Roger would have been in service two years on December 12. The body will be brought home for burial but funeral arrangements are incomplete until its arrival.
