Donald Shumway
Donald J. Shumway, 77, of Gladwin passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center- Gladwin.
He was born in Detroit on Oct. 21, 1927 to the late Earl and Gladys (Seymour) Shumway. He married the former Betty Bowen on March 30, 1946 in Gladwin; she survives him. He was a retired oil field worker and employee for Dow Chemical.
Surviving besides his wife Betty are his children, Judy (Walter) Mertens of Lake George, Linda Hetherington of Gladwin, Vickie (Charles) Brubaker of Beaverton, Deborah (Gary) Manges and Ronald (Connie Bell) Shumway, both of Gladwin; 33 grandchildren and 40 Great grandchildren; one brother, Robert McLay of West Branch; and one sister, Sharon McLay of Dallas, Texas. He was predeceased by a son, Gerald Shumway, and three sisters.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9 at the Sisson Funeral Home, with Alisa Wood presiding. Burial took place in Billings Township Cemetery.
