Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Alma Smith

   Alma Shull, 82, of Gladwin passed away Nov. 9, 2007 at Luther Manor in Saginaw, where she resided for the last 19 months to be near her sister, following a long illness.

   She was born in Clare on June 20, 1925 to Herman and Lucy (Radloff) Rank. She was a bookkeeper for Chemical Bank in Midland and Clare, retiring in 1978. She had resided in Gladwin County since 1978, previously residing in Clare.

   She was also a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Gladwin, and she dearly loved to play the piano as a member of the First United Methodist Church.

   Alma married Ralph Shull in Clare on March 4, 1978. He preceded her in death in 1993. She is survived by her sisters, Violet Stamman and Eileen Hampton, both of Clare, and Elsie (Carl) Ott of Saginaw; brother, Larry (Ruth) Rank of Swartz Creek; several nieces and nephews; step-son, Max (Evelyn) Shull of Clare; stepgrandchildren, David Shull, Susie and Doug Hoesli, and Joel Shull; and step- great grandchildren, Aron Hoesli and Rebecca Hoesli.

   She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; parents; and her great-grandchild, Christy Hoesli.

   Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 12, 2007 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Gladwin with Pastor Joseph Dorais and Pastor Stan Dulaney officiating. She was laid to rest in Ott Cemetery in Clare.
