John Shephard
John (Jack) Shephard, 76, of 1431 Brand Ave., Clare, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1992, in the Mid Michigan Regional Medical Center, Gladwin, after a long illness.
Born in Flint, Dec. 24, 1915, he moved to the area in 1969 from Flint. Mr. Shephard was a retired supervisor for Fisher Body Fisher 1 and a veteran of World War II.
Mr. Shephard and the former Maxine Fudge were married June 15, 1935, in Flint. She died on Feb 2, 1973. He then married the former Georgia Winn on Aug. 1, 1975, in Indiana.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Maynard of Flint and Theodore of Harrison; one daughter, Rosanne Wallace of Washington State; 4 step-daughters, Kathleen Casebeer of Coleman, Karl Farling and Kemma Border of Gladwin and Katrina McCormack of Garden City; a grandson he raised, Mark Wallace of Tennessee; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Rites were held today, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Donald Potter officiated and burial was in the Arthur Township Cemetery.
