Charles Shephard
SERVICES THURSDAY FOR RHODES MAN
Charles "Bud" Shephard, 49, of Rhodes, died Monday at Alma following an illness of six weeks.
Rites will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Ware-Smith Funeral Home in Midland. The Rev. Ernest
Hasse will officiate and burial will be in the Dale Cemetery. Born on June 14, 1916, near Shepherd,
he was an operator and assistant foreman for Dow Chemical Co.
Mr. Shephard was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Rhodes Missionary Church, Estey
Sportsmen's Club, Michigan United Conservation Club, and the Michigan Bear Hunters Club. He was
married to the former Mildred Rupp, of Beaverton. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Giles Shepard, of Rhodes; three sons, Edward, of Lansing, Thomas and Gary, at home; two
daughtes, Mrs. Judy Switalske, of Lansing, and Mary, at home; and one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Sorg, of
Porterville, Calif.
