Margaret (Lawhorn) Shell
FORMER RESIDENT BURIED HERE
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Shell, 76, were held from the Reigle Funeral Home in
Flint recently. The Rev. C. H. Woods officiated and burial was made in the Gladwin cemetery.
Mrs. Shell was a resident of Gladwin county for many years. She was born in Arden, Ontario in
1874 and came to the United States at 15. She married William Shell in 1890 in Oscoda. They
operated a farm in Gladwin for some years. After leaving the farm. Mr. Shell served the county
as sheriff for two terms. Moving to Bay City and then to Flint, he passed away 22 years ago.
Following her husband' s death, Mrs. Shell spent her time in Pontiac, Gladwin and Flint. She
died at the Walls Convalescent Home in Flint on Sunday, May 7, following several months of failing
health. Surviving are one brother, George Boomhower, of Elk Horn, Manitoba; three sisters, Mrs.
Lavina Green, of Arden, Ontario, Mrs. Edward Thompson of Elm Tree, Ontario and Mrs. Henry Long, of
Flint; alson several nieces and nephews.
