Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Mortimer "Mort" Shea

   Mortimer Shea, age 83, of Gladwin passed away Saturday, August 17 at the Mid Michigan Medical Center-Gladwin following a long illness. He was born April 18, 1919 in Clare County to Mortimer and Dorothy Baumann Shea. Mort lived and farmed in the Gladwin area all his life. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the army. One June 12, 1946 he married Anna Lee Brubaker in Gladwin. She survives him.

   Mort was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post 1075 Harrison, Past Grand Knight of Fr. Artman Council #5280 Knights of Columbus, MMPA Board of Directors, and Hamilton Township Treasurer/Supervisor and the Clare County Drain Commissioner.

   Surviving are his wife, Anna Lee; his children Bob (Deb) Shea of Gladwin, Dennis (Janis) Shea of Gladwin, Richard (Tammy) Shea of Elk Creek, California, Mary Pat (Matt) Sheehan of East Tawas, Jim (Kathy) Shea of Gladwin, Kathy Swingle of Gladwin, Christine (Christopher) Dunning of Midland, and Annette (Howard) Ritchie of Gladwin; 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; his brother Don Shea of Gladwin; and his sisters Ruth Haight (Hardy) of Weidman, Donna Thompson of Midland, Nora Closs of Midland and Rose Ann Barber of Auburn.

   He is predeceased by a baby daughter, Teresa Jean; and by sisters Margaret Shea, Mary Vitkuske and Fran Liddy. A funera service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday August 21 at Sacred Heart Catholic Chuch. Fr. Patrick Jankowiak will officiate. Burial will take place in Highland Cemetery in Gladwin. Graveside services will be under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 1075 of Harrison. A Rosary was prayed Tuesday evening at the Sisson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart School or Mission.
