Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
John F. Shaffer RITES SATURDAY FOR JOHN F. SHAFFER

   Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home for John Franklin Shaffer, 88, of Tobacco Township, who died today (Wednesday) at his home after a long illness. He was born in Elkhart, Ind., on July 27, 1877, and came to Gladwin County in 1916. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Shaffer was married to the former Edna Robinson in Allegan County. She preceded him in death on March 25, 1945.

   Surviving are five sons, Paul and Robert of Detroit, Donald and James in California, and Harold at home; one daughter, Margaret, in Indiana; one brother, W. S., of Holland; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. The Rev. Randall Roose will officiate and burial will be in Dale Cemetery.
