James B. Seckman

JAMES B. SECKMAN


  James B. Seckman, 72, of Beaverton, died Monday, July 3, 1995 at MidMichigan Regional Medical Center - Midland following a short illness. Born Dec. 27, 1922 in Shirley, W. Va., he resided in Gladwin County most of his life. Mr. Seckman worked as a pipe fitter for 37 years before retiring in 1984. He was a member of Local 85, Plumbers & Pipe Fitters, Saginaw. Mr. Seckman owned and operated Jim's Midway Store from 1972-1978 and Jim's Small Engine Repair & Welding since 1984. He married the former Pearl Whiteman Dec. 12, 1942 in Gladwin.

  Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Michael and wife Dawn of Greybull, Wyo., and Allen and wife Sandra of Beaverton; 2 daughters, Kathy and husband John Kustra of Beaverton, and Linda and husband Elton Frye of Beaverton; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 grandsons and one sister.

  Rites were held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton chapel with Minister Mark Sherfield officiating. Burial was in Arbutus Cemetery, Beaverton. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Church of Christ or hospice..
