John E. Scoby
EX-RESIDENT DIES IN CAR ACCIDENT
John E. Scoby, 46, of Elkton, Md., died Wednesday, May 21; in an automobile accident in
Maryland. Born in Tobacco Township on June 6, 1922, he lived in the county until 1942. Mr.
Scoby was a navy veteran of World War II and was a salesman for the American Engineering Co.
He is survived by his wife the former Carolyn Causey; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Scoby, of Beaverton; one son Gary and one daughter, Delene, both of Maryland; two sisters,
Mrs. Marguerite Kelley, of Flint and Mrs. Viola Chandler of Lompot, Calif.; and two brothers,
Charles, of Mt. Clemens and Gerald, of Gladwin.
Rites were held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from the Dale United Methodist Church. The Rev. A. H.
Keesler officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Hall
Funeral Home.
