Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Lois Schneider

   Lois Schneider, 93, of Beaverton died Aug. 25, 2006 at MidMichigan Medical Center- Gladwin following a long illness. She was born in Gladwin on Jan. 8, 1913 to Murray and Ilo (Spicer) Calhoun.

   She married George Schneider on Feb. 7, 1934 in Clare; he died in 1981. Lois was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County. She retired from the Gladwin Hospital in 1985 after 27 years as an O.R. Technician.

   She attended First Presbyterian Church in Beaverton and was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Stars. She also loved sewing and spending time with her family.

   Surviving are her daughters, Louise (Wayne) Wright of Cadillac and Lou Ann (Ed) Carpenter of Beaverton; grandchildren, Kim (Mark) Clayton, Greg (Karen) Carpenter, Susan (Dan) Shaffer, Dena (Jim) Gregory, Delynne (Penny) Schneider, Shawn (Don) Werth, Justin (Lisa) Schneider, and George Schneider; 18 great-grandchildren; a daughterin- law, Deanna Schneider of Beaverton; two sisters, Lorraine (Mike) Hitchcock and Marion (Clyde) Grant, all of Beaverton; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband; son, Philip; grandsons, Larry Dean Carpenter and Brett Wright; and brothers, Garmon Calhoun and Frances Nunn. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Beaverton with Rev. Karen Blatt officiating. Burial will be in Beaverton Cemetery.

   Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Beaverton or to Gladwin Pines Nursing Home.
