Frederick Schmidt
Frederick “Fred” J. Schmidt, 64, of Beaverton died March 24, 2006 at home. He was born March 13, 1942 in Detroit to Joseph and Dorothy (Zimmer) Schmidt. He married the former Darlene Workman on Aug. 5, 1961 in Center Line. He was a carpenter with Carpenters Union Local #687. He lived in Gladwin County 12 years having previously resided in Romeo. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who always had a big smile for everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Schmidt of Beaverton; five children, Lynette (Jeff) Hessel of Ray Township, Tammy (Fred) Thom of Leonard, Vonda Wendt of Gladwin, Fred (Kim) Schmidt of Riley, and Donna (Mitch) Moore of New Haven; and his grandchildren, Jennifer, Joshua, Rachel Thom, Jacob Hessel, Nichole, Samantha, Clinton and Louis Thom, Andrea and Michael Wendt, Lauren, Caleb Schmidt, Roemello and Kobe Moore. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Frank and Joseph; and one sister, Rosey.
A funeral service was held Monday, March 27 at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin with pastor Earl March officiating. Burial was in Hope Township Cemetery.
