Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Alvin Schlese

   Alvin “Al” Schlese, 70, of Gladwin, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005 at the Gladwin Pines Nursing Center.

   He was born in Gladwin on Jan. 15, 1935 to the late Daniel and Elsie (Franke) Schlese. He married the former Colleen Dunning in Saginaw on Oct. 30, 1954; she survives him. He lived most of his life in the Gladwin area. In 1983 he retired from Saginaw Grey Iron after 30 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.

   Surviving besides his wife Colleen are one son, Darrell (RuthAnn) Schlese of Gladwin; one daughter, Karen (Bob) Munson of Grant; five grandchildren, Nicole (Chad) Searfoss, Kayla and Cody Schlese, and Shawn and Amber Munson; two Great grandchildren, Lexi and Carly Searfoss; and two sisters, Frieda (Len) Rose of Arizona and Ida (Don) Ringler of Gladwin. He was predeceased by one brother, Art Schlese.

   Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 13 at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Norman Betke presiding. Burial was at Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Our Savior Lutheran Building Fund.
