Arthur Schlamp
Arthur Albert Schlamp, 86, of Gladwin, died July 27, 2006 at Northern Michigan Hospital of natural causes. He was born in Detroit on Aug. 24, 1920 to Ralph and Annie Schlamp. He lived in Gladwin County for nine years, having previously resided in Detroit. He was a bar owner and retired in 1980.
He was a veteran of WWII and was very proud to have served in the U.S. Navy. He was involved with the National Rifle Association for many years and was an avid hunter. He attended the Lutheran church.
He is survived by daughters, Valerie J. Pratt of Pennsylvania and Frances A. Kosticky of Prudenville; five grandchildren, Sherry L. Lovellett, Candy L. Hutchinson, Stacy M. Mazelis, Jessica V. Pratt, and Alfred H. Pratt IV; and two Great-grandchildren, Alyssa Hutchinson and Ashley Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Francis A. Schlamp; one daughter, Brenda L. Frost; one sister, Florence Ruck; and one brother, Edward Schlamp.
A funeral service was held Aug. 1, 2006 in Denton Township.
