Albert Schindel
Albert Schindel, 85, of Gladwin died Oct. 25, 2005 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Saginaw following a long illness. He was born July 20, 1920 in Gladwin to Alexander and Ernestine (Fritzke) Schindel. He married Marie Lybeer in Detroit on Sept. 20, 1941. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was employed as an operator at Dow Chemical. He lived in Gladwin County most of his life and was a life member of the Gladwin Historical Society.
Surviving are his wife, Marie Schindel of Gladwin; two sons, Ronald (JoAnne) Schindel of Royal Oak and Roger Schindel of Gladwin; three grandchildren and six Great grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence Lemke of Gladwin and Lenard Lemke of Trenton; one sister, Virginia Landenberger of Gladwin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ruth and Evelyn, and one brother, Raymond.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct. 28 at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin with Pastor Norman Betke officiating. Burial followed at Ridge Cemetery in Gladwin. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Kidney Foundation.
