Marvin F. Schalte
Marvin F. Schalte, 72, of 3362 N. Three Rivers Rd., Gladwin, died Sunday,
April 23, in the Midland Hospital Center after a short illness. Born in Detroit, Sept. 16,
1916, he moved to Gladwin County in 1976. Mr. Schalte owned an excavating business. He was a
veteran of World War II. Mr. Schalte and the former Marie VanAssche were married, Nov. 21, 1942,
in Dearborn.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 4 sons, Mark of Tucson, Ariz., Gary of Gladwin, Donald
of Romulus and Thomas of Dearborn; oen sister, Lorraine Radtke of Pontiac; and 7 grandchildren.
Services were held today, Wednesday, at 11 a.m. from the Sisson-Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev.
Father Donald Christensen officiated and burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials may
be made to the American Heart Association or the Michigan Cancer Foundati.
