Harold Sands
Harold D. Sands, 77, of Gladwin, passed away on Nov. 8, 2005 at the home of his daughter with his family by his side.
He was born in Pontiac on July 27, 1928 to the late Ernest and Alice (Slate) Sands. Harold was retired from General Motors as a fork truck driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Hockaday Community Church.
He is survived by three sons, Larry (Rose) Sands of Clarkston, Dennis (Lin) Sands of Waterford, and Dale (Diane) Sands of Roger City, Connecticut; two daughters, Maureen Sanday of Waterford and Pamela (Bud) Goldsworthy of Gladwin; 11 grandchildren and 16 Great grandchildren; four brothers, Chester Sands, Claude Sands, Don Sands and Orville Sands; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, George B. Sands; three brothers, Frank Sands, Richard Sands and Glenn Sands; and four sisters, Mamie Bruce, Mabel Andritsis, Ruth Condon and Erma Warden.
At Mr. Sands’ request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Butman Township Hall. The Sisson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
