Albert sampson
Albert J. Sampson, 81, of 2374 N. M-30, Gladwin, died Monday, January 31,
at the Veterans Hospital, Saginaw, following a long illness. A life-long resident of Gladwin
County, he was born here March 10, 1890. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War I.
Mr. Sampson and the former Nellie E. Kern were married August 25, 1917, in Gladwin Veterans of
Foreign Wars and of the Gladwin WWI Barracks.
Surviving are his wife, Nellie; three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Hollenbaugh and Mrs. Delores
(Wayne) Cronk, of Gladwin, and Mrs. Alice (Ross) Salyer of Mio; four sons, Ralph and Boyd of
Sanford, Stanley and Archie of Gladwin; a brother George of Afton; three sisters, Mrs. Delia
Snyder of Detroit, Mrs. Anna Barrett of Kalamazoo, and Mrs. Lillian Kellogg of Cadillac; 23
grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin, with the Rev.
John Cermak officiating. Burial will be in McClure Cemetery.
