Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
Ruth Saide

   Ruth A. (Tuck) Saide, age 83, of Midland died at the MidMichigan Medical Center on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005. The daughter of the late Fred and Della (Copus) Tuck was born on Aug. 9, 1922 in Gladwin where she was raised and educated. On Oct. 13, 1944, she married Nascib Saide in Highland Park.

   Mr. Saide predeceased her in 1993. Ruth co-owned and operated with her husband Sidís Party Store since 1957. Ruth ran the restaurant portion of the store where cooking and baking was her joy for the past 30 years. Ruth was loved by many and will be missed for the outpouring of love that she gave to her customers, which she considered family. Ruth was also a member of the Midland First United Methodist Church where she worked on many bereavement dinners.

   Ruth is survived by her son, Doug (Debbie) Saide of Midland, and her daughters: Kathy Detwiler of Jacksonville, Florida, and Ruth Ann Saide and her close friend Byron Rittmaier of Midland. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Robbie (Cathy) Detwiler, Jennifer (Sylvain) Gavin, Jessa (Eric) Lanning, and Aaron Saide. She will also be missed by her Great-grandchildren, Savannah Detwiler, Luke Detwiler, and Ava Lanning. Ruthís brothers are Wayne (Thelma) Tuck, Ken (Evelyn) Tuck, Howard Tuck, Gordon (Joyce) Tuck, all of Gladwin, and her sisters Dorothy (Peter) Mercier of Midland and Velma Tuckerman of Beaverton.

   Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005 from the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Charles Keyworth officiating. Interment will be in Midland Cemetery.
