Mary E. Ross
Mrs. Mary E. Ross, 86, of 139 W. Brown Street, Beaverton, died at her home Thursday, December 20, following a long illness. Born in Van Wert County, Ohio, the former Mary E. Paxton had been a resident of Gladwin County since 1907, coming here from Grover Hill, Ohio. The daughter of Lewis J. and Ida Springer Paxton was married October 5, 1905, in Grover Hill, to David S. Ross. Mrs. Ross was a member of the Beaverton Presbyterian Church and the Order of Eastern Star 386.
Surviving are her husband, David; 3 sons, L.J. of Mt. Pleasant, Wayne of Enon, Ohio, and Warren of Portland, Ore.; a daughter, Mrs. William (Betty) Rogers of Saginaw; a brother, Dewey Paxton of Clare; a sister, Mrs. Leona Busick of Grover Hill, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Two sons preceded her in death.
Services were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton. The Rev. Roger J. Browne officiated and burial was in Dale Cemetery, Beaverton.
