Fred Rosin
Fred E. Rosin, 89, of Gladwin died Friday, June 24, 2005 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw. He was born in Lansing on June 29, 1916 to Emil and Augusta (Kroll) Rosin. He married the former Glynis C. Rundell in Berkley.
She predeceased him on Jan. 19, 2000. He was raised and educated in Detroit, and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He delivered milk for Sealtest for 15 years, and later went into sales for home construction. Fred also had been employed with Wilson Miller Funeral Home. He was a professional guitarist for over 70 years. He played in many well known bands, most recently “Blast from the Past” and the “Dixieland Band” from the Midland area.
He was a member of the American Legion in Midland and the F.O.E. of Gladwin. He enjoyed golfing, reading, discussing politics and was an avid euchre player. The best thing he loved was spending time with his Great grandchildren.
He is survived by one daughter, Nancy Hawkins of Garden City; son, Robert (Gloria) Rosin of Westland; son, Clifford (Barbara) Rosin of Gladwin; son, Patrick (Jill) Rosin of Gladwin; two stepdaughters, Karen Brown of Lansing and Donna (Jack) Knapp of Howell; one brother, Edward Rosin of Mt. Clemens; 14 grandchildren and 19 Great-grandchildren. he was predeceased by a son, Jack Rosin; his brother, Herb; his sister, Dorothy; son-inlaw, Bobby Hawkins; and Great-grandson, Lucas Felts.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 1 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 211 E. Cedar in Gladwin. Refreshments will be served following the service. Memorials may be offered to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or the Chippewa Nature Center in Midland.
