Gertrude Rose
Gertrude Jane Rose, 85, of Gladwin passed away suddenly on Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at her home She was born on Jan. 14, 1922 in Tri Mountain, Michigan to James and Viola (Olson) Phillips.
She married Bernard Rose (predeceased 2000) on March 22, 1941 in Hazel Park She worked as a punch press operator at a machine shop in Berkley, Michigan. She retired in 1979.
Gertrude was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Royal Oak, Berkley and Highland Park; Eastern Star #483; as well as a member of Secord Lake Eagles Aerie # 4121 Auxiliary. She lived in Gladwin County since 2001.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet (Frank) Alley of Gladwin; two sons, William (Doreen) Rose of Dunnellon, Florida, and Robert Rose of Berkley; grandchildren, Bernard J White, Mareva and Dave Willhite, Cindy and Jeremy Frickie; greatgrandchildren, Jacob, Caleb, Eli and Vincent; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband and parents.
Funeral services are Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Hopcroft Funeral Home in Hazel Park. Burial will take place at Glen Eden Cemetery, Garden of Victory in Livonia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family's charity of choice.
