Agnes Rich
SERVICES THURSDAY FOR MRS. JOHN RICH
Mrs. Agnes H. Rich, 80, a life-long resident of Tobacco township, passed away at her home in Beaverton Monday afternoon, January 18, following an illness of two years. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon from the Beaverton church of the Brethren. The Rev. Ernest Jehnsen will officiate and burial will be in the Dale cemetery.
Agnes H. Dow was born in Tobacco township on December 1, 1873, the daughter of James and Julia Dow. She was married to John Rich at Gladwin on September 14, 1898. They moved to a farm home in Tobacco township, where they remained 47 years, when ill health forced retirement to Beaverton in 1945. Mr. and Mrs. Rich celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on September 14, 1948.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and of the Women's Work of the Beaverton Church of the Brethren. Surviving are her husband, John; one daughter, Mrs. Ottomar McKimmy; one brother, James J. Dow, of Toledo, Ohio; also six grandchildren. A son, Merle, preceded his mother in death in 1924.
