Mrs. Eliza B. Rhodes
AGED RESIDENT OF BENTLEY TOWNSHIP PASSED AWAY JUNE 6
Mrs. Eliza B. Rhodes died June 6, 1919 in her 86th
year, at the home of Charles Hunt in Bentley township,
for whom she had kept house for the last 1 years. She
was born in Kentucky. Her husband, who was a soldier
of the Civil war, died 16 years ago. To them five
children were born, all of whom departed this life in
their youth; of her relatives only a niece remains to
mourn her loss. Mrs. Rhodes had been in poor health
the past three years, and for several months had been
in a constant decline until her death. She had been a
soldier of the cross form her youth up, and the old
lady's last words were that she loved Jesus and that
he was with her.
Funeral services were conducted at the house Monday
noon by Rev. Beebe of Midland, and the body was taken
on the afternoon train to Powell, Delaware county,
Ohio, for burial beside her dear ones. Mr. Hunt
accompanied the body to its last resting place.
Undertaker Green had charge of the body. She leaves a
large circle of friends to mourn her loss.
