Fred Renas Sr.
Fred E. Renas Sr., 84, of Gladwin passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008 at the Gladwin Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre.
He was born Jan. 4, 1924 in Gladwin to Adolf and Lydia (Grapentine) Renas. Fred lived in Gladwin most all his life.
He owned and operated a service station and two parking lots down state. He came back to Gladwin and started Wolverine Camper which he operated for over 20 years.
Fred loved his English Setters and had Field Trials in Meredith when he belonged to the American Kennel Club. He loved to hunt and was voted Gladwin’s Man of The Year. He was a member of what was then the Round Lake Baptist Church.
Surviving are one son, Greg (Lisa) Renas of Freeland; two daughters, Gloria Foust of Knoxville, Tennessee and Lauri (Raymond) Mondeau of Harrison; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Sheri Renas of Gladwin; five sisters, Carol Renas of Detroit, Vi Page of California, Emma Hahn of Detroit, Bertha Kreuger of Westland and Eleanor Bray of California. Fred is predeceased by one son, Fred Jr.; four brothers; and one sister.
No services are immediately planned. Sisson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
