Robert Remmert
Robert R. Remmert, 52, of 1611 Pratt Lake Road, Gladwin, died Sunday, April
29, in the Gladwin Area Hospital following a long illness. Born in Detroit on August 31, 1926,
he came to Gladwin County seven years ago from St. Clair Shores. Mr. Remmert was a retired
service station owner and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the
Gladwin County VFW Post 7303. Mr. Remmert and the former Betty Yates were married on October 23,
1948, in Detroit.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Robert of Beaverton, Richard of Mt. Clemens and
Ronald at home; a foster son, Allen Wojie of St. Clair Shores; one daughter, Susand, at home; his
mother, Mrs. Lela Remmert; 4 brothers, Walter of Brighton, Carl of Oxford, Frank of Detroit and
Richard of Romeo; 3 sisters, Mrs. Bernice Hewitt of Arizona, Mrs. Carol Yak of St. Clair Shores and
Mrs. Fawn Stewart of Oklahoma; and 3 grandsons.
Services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Herbert
Biermann officiated and burial was in the Ridge Cemetery.
