John Reisner
John Allen Reisner, 62, of Lake City passed away Jan. 25, 2008 in Traverse City.
Born Oct. 8, 1945, he was the second son of Fred and Virginia (Larrison) Reisner.
He was raised in Indiana and graduated from Manchester College, Indiana with a bachelor’s degree in business. In addition, he completed a banking course from the University of Michigan.
In 1967 he married the former Betty McCombs.
John served four years in the US Air Force from 1967 to 1971. Afterward he worked with the American National Bank of Kalamazoo for eight years. He completed his banking career with the Chemical Financial Corporation retiring in June 2007.
He was active in many charitable organizations within the communities that he and his family lived.
Surviving are his wife, Betty; two children, Brad (Kris) of Lake City and Jennifer (Todd Burkhardt) Reisner of Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren, Taylor, Colton and Kaleb Reisner; his mother, Virginia Reisner; two sisters, Susan (John) Dahlkamp and Mary Faye (Dale) Birkey; mother-in-law, Mildred McCombs; three sisters-in-law, Pat (Bob) Coy, Nancy (Dale) McCombs and Sue (Doug) Easterday; six nephews; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred; one brother, Tom; and father-in-law, J.W. McCombs.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard Bachman officiating, at the Lake City Christian Reformed Church, 1657 S. Morey Rd. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions be directed to the the Missaukee Area Community Foundation, PO Box 166, Lake City, MI, 49651. Envelopes will be available at the service.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Young Funeral Home in Lake City.
