Eleanor Reader
Eleanor I. Reader, 86, of Gladwin passed away Sunday, May 13, 2007 at the Covenant Cooper Medical Center in Saginaw.
Eleanor was born Oct. 1, 1920 in Ludington to Arthur and Minnie (Arndt) Hackert.
Eleanor married Walter Reader on Dec. 31, 1939 in Ludington Together they owned and operated W.E. Reader & Co., Hardware & Implement and also a sporting goods store.
They moved to Gladwin in 2006 after 28 years in Florida Surviving is her husband, Walter; two sons, Warren (Catherine) Reader of Minnesota, and Kelley (Colleen) Reader of Indiana; one daughter, Janette (Gary) Simpkins of Gladwin; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one halfsister, Geraldine (Bob) Gearhart of Ohio. Eleanor is predeceased by three brothers.
Services will be held at 1 p.m Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at the Brown Corners United Brethren in Christ Church.
Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. until time of service Rev. Chuck Malson will officiate Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2007 at the Brookside Cemetery in Scottville, Michigan.
Memorials may be made to the church. Arrangements are being handled by Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin.
