Frederick Ranes
Frederick James Ranes, 70, of 1775 S. M-18, Gladwin, died Sunday, May 22,
in the Standish Community Hospital after a short illness. Born in Beaverton, March 19, 1918,
he had spent his lifetime in Gladwin County. Mr. Ranes was retired from Woods Saw Mill. He
served in the Army during World War II.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Velma Bills of Nashua, N.H. and Karen Reed of Salem, N. H.; one
son, James of Utah; 5 brothers, Arthur of Arizona, Lawrence, Ralph, Evert and Keith of Beaverton;
3 sisters, Leola Hathaway of Midland, Doris Gilmour of Sanford and Zelma Ranes of Beaverton; and
3 grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev.
Mark Moore will officiate and burial will be in the Dale Cemetery. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today,
Wednesday.
