Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
John Pushies

   John T. Pushies, 70, of Gladwin passed away suddenly Monday, Dec. 18, 2006 at his home.

   He was born May 3, 1936 in Wyandotte to George and Mary Catherine (Scanlon) Pushies.

   John married the former Lucille Brehio on Feb. 13, 1960 in Southfield. He worked for 45 years as an operating engineer for Local 324 and served as a business agent. They came to Gladwin in 1997.

   John served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Navy on the USS Roanoke. He loved to farm and was an avid history buff and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He loved his family and was dearly loved by them.

   Surviving are his wife, Lucille; four children, Dr. Rosemary Pushies of Irons, George E. Pushies of Fowlerville, Rita (Earl) Lewis of Fowlerville, and Dr. Ann Marie Pushies and Paul Riggio of Fowlerville; one granddaughter, Mary Lynn and Brad Byerle; two great-grandchildren, Morgan Marie Byerle and Andrew Jason Byerle; two brothers, George D. Pushies of Howell and Rick Pushies of Modesto, California; and two sisters, Pauline Saenz of Inkster and Cathy Maynard of Westland.

   A private service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements were handled by Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin.
