Hilda Powell
Mrs. Hilda P. Powell, of 2430 S. M-18, Beaverton, died Sunday, May 4, at a Midland nursing home following an illness since last July. She was 46 years old. Born in Gladwin County November 22, 1928, hse had lived her lifetime here. The former Hilda Cornell and Homer Powell were married in Beaverton November 5, 1955. She was a member of the Gladwin Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are her husband, Homer; a son, Homer Jr.; a step-daughter, Barbara Hannah; her mother, Mrs. Maude (Frank) Cornell; 5 sisters, Mrs. Hazel (George) White, Mrs. Katherine (Vernell) Stillwagon, Mrs. Viola (Sylvestor) Silance, all of Beaverton, Mrs. Helen (Ray) Yager of Shields, and Mrs. June (Earl) Buck of Walled Lake; one brother, William Cornell of Beaverton.
Services are being held today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel, with the Rev. Dale Hill and Rev. Gerald Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the Beaverton Cemetery.
