Esther Pingel
Esther M. “Toni” Pingel, 87, of Frankenmuth, formerly of Gladwin, passed away on Monday, April 28 at the Frankenmuth Lutheran Home.
She was born to the late James and Mary (Lkebs) Zsolozai on June 1, 1919 in Lapeer County. She was a retired nurse’s aid. Esther moved here to Gladwin in 1975 and attended Sacred Heart Church. Esther loved to read, swim at Wiggins Lake and write.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Dawn Jacobsma of Grand Rapids and Paul and Lisa Ayling of Birch Run; four great grandchildren, Nathen Schwarzbeck, Josh Jacobsma, Kayla Ayling and Jeffrey Ayling; one brother, Raymond Zsolozai of Wisconsin; one daughter-inlaw, Eska Wilson of Birch Run; two stepdaughters, Marilyn and Jimmy Powell of Lennon and Marion VanKuren of Lapeer; three step-grandchildren, all of Lapeer; 10 great step-grandchildren; one great great stepgrandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Herman Ayling and George Pingel, as well as one son, Arthur Ayling and one daughter-in-law, Sharon Ayling.
