Beaverton Historical Society Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice

William Phillips
William J. Phillips of Roseburg, Sanilac county, died Thursday evening, Sept. 10. He was operated on Sunday previous for appendicitis. Mr. Phillips in early days of Gladwin was foreman on the farm then owned by Butman & Rust in Gladwin township, and afterward bought land adjoining on the corner where the schoolhouse stands, and there commenced developing a farm, which he sold and left for Sanilac county, where he has resided a number of years.
He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Maud M, Hodgins, and two grandchildren, Miss Thelma Hodgins and Bernell Hodgins. Funeral services were held Sunday.
