Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Vera Pero

   Vera Pero (Lamb, Stallings) 82, died April 2, 2005 in Mesa Az. following a short illness. She was born on February 28, 1923 to Lula and Frances Pero in Podunk. She married Theodore Lamb of Gladwin in July of 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents Lula (Pero) Clute and Frances Pero, sisters Edith (Pero) Edgar of Gladwin, and Irene (Pero) Elliott of Mt. Pleasant and stepson David Stallings.

   She is survived by one daughter Shelby Hensley of Mesa, Arizona. One brother, Gordon Pero and wife Virginia of Flint. One granddaughter Debbie Pletzer and two great-granddaughters, Allison and Melissa of Hollister California. She is survived by stepdaughter Willajean Stallings. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

   Vera was a skilled machinist in Arizona for many years. She worked at Phoenix Spring co. and retired from Car- Graph in Tempe, Arizona in 1987. Vera was a member of the Elks Club, Mesa Arizona. She loved plants, crocheting, and to tinker and fix things. She regularly volunteered to help many friends and neighbors in need.

   She was deeply loved by her devoted daughter, granddaughter and Great-granddaughters who enjoyed her wit and wisdom of life. A memorial service will be held at noon Sunday August 7, 2005 at Highland Cemetery in Gladwin.
