Irene Parker
Irene Parker, 93, of Beaverton, Michigan died March 1, 2006 at Carriage House of Bay City after a long illness. She was born Feb. 13, 1913 in Gladwin and was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County. She married Delmar Parker in Bay City on March 3, 1933; he passed away in 1997. She was a homemaker and a member of Beaverton Church of the Brethren. She was Tobacco Township Clerk for over 30 years, a member of the Farm Bureau, and a member Gladwin County Home Extension Group for 45 years.
Surviving her are four children, Donald (Sandy) Parker of Beaverton, Lucille (Roger) Mudge of Standish, Harold (Ruth) Parker of Westerville, Ohio, and Douglas Parker of Bay City; 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; one brother, Clarence Fry of Gladwin; and three sisters, Stella Brushaber of Beaverton, Evelyn Smith of Rapid City, and Carol Grice of Midland. She was predeceased by her husband, six brothers and sister, and her parents.
A funeral service was held Friday, March 3 at Beaverton Church of the Brethren with Rev. Henry List and pastor John Glasscock officiating. Burial was in Tobacco Township (Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton. Memorial contributions may be made to Beaverton Church of the Brethren or American Cancer Society.
