Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Donald Papineau

   Donald D. Papineau, 47, of Gladwin, formerly of Montrose, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center.

   Don was born March 3, 1960 in Flint, Michigan to Jerry and Carrie (Davidson) Papineau.

   He had resided in the Gladwin area the past year, having lived most of his life in Montrose. He was a 1978 graduate of Hill-McCloy High School in Montrose and the University of Michigan. Don married Kathy Phillips on Feb. 22, 1985.

   He owned and operated DDP Police Services the past 20 years. He was a member of the Midland Evangelical Free Church; God was very important in Don’s life along with his family. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan, especially of the Tigers and Pistons.

   Surviving are his wife, Kathy; two children, Erika Papineau (Chris Caris) of Bridgeport, Kaley (Thomas) Visser of Gladwin; two grandsons, Kadon and Jacob; his mother, Carrie Papineau of Clio; one brother, Tom (Audrey) Papineau of Burton; one sister, Raeann (Barry) Salter of Cheboygan; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Mary Phillips of Greenbush; brothers-inlaw, Kevin (Seann) Phillips of Dexter, Randy (Tammy) Phillips of Davison. Don was preceded in death by his father, Jerry, on April 20, 2007 and one grandson, Jonah.

   Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose with Rev. Daryl Burt officiating and private burial at Montrose Township Cemetery.
