Lucy Onweller
Mrs. Lucy E. Onweller, 79, of Tobacco Township, died suddenly Friday, January 7, at her home on Dale Road near Beaverton. Mrs. Onweller was born June 23, 1892, in Lyons, Ohio, and came to Gladwin County with her parents in 1897, when 5 years old. The former Miss Lucy Seward and Claude Onweller were married in Gladwin August 7, 1907. Mr. Onweller died Jan. 12, 1955.
Surviving are four sons, Glenn of Beaverton, Alvin of Clare, Melvin of Coleman, and Robert of California; seven daughters, Mrs. Velma Blades, Mrs. Betty Blades, Mrs. Claudene Sandula, and Mrs. Beverly Brushaber, all of Beaverton, Mrs. Dorothy Stuart of Flint, Mrs. Jessie Kintner of Plymouth, and Mrs. Lorraine Elshaw of Euclid, Ohio; 38 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Services were held Monday at 2 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton, with the Rev. Zina Bennett officiating. Burial was in Dale Cemetery.
