Newell Ogg
Newell Ogg, 71, of 1695 N. Bard Rd., Gladwin, died Monday, Aug. 18, at his
home after a long illness. Born in Grout Township Oct. 23, 1914; he had spent his lifetime
in Gladwin County. Mr. Ogg farmed for many years in Sage Township and was a postal clerk at
the Gladwin Post Office from 1971 to 1983. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of
the Gladwin County Farm Bureau.
Mr. Ogg and the former Lois Bauman were married Oct. 5, 1946, in Milwaukee, Wisc. Besides
his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Brian (Darlene) Roller of Essexville and Janet;
4 brothers, Lyle, Grant and Glen of Gladwin and Jay of Rochester, Minn.; 3 sisters, Mrs. Avis
Condra and Jean of Gladwin and Mrs. Ruth Crockett of Midland; and 2 grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Sisson-Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev.
Donald Dengler will officiate and burial will be in the Highland Cemetery. Memorials may be
made to Our Savior Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour.
