Arthur Ogg
ILLNESS FATAL TO ARTHUR OGG
Arthur Ogg, 77, of Sage Township, died Thursday at the Gladwin Hospital following an illness of several weeks. Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Miner Chapel. The Rev. M. R. Putnam officiated and burial was in Ridge Cemetery. Born in Ontario, Canad, on Oct. 22, 1888, he came to Gladwin County 70 years ago. He was engaged in farming.
Mr. Ogg was a former member of the school board and at one timee, was clerk of Grout Township. He was married to the former Eva Garden on Nov. 25, 1913, in Gladwin. Besides his wife, he survived by five sons, Newell, Lyle, Grant and Glenn, of Gladwin and Jay, of Bethesda, Md.; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Crockett, of Midland, Mrs. Avis White, of Santa Monica, Calif., and Jean at home; three brothers, James, Dean and Edwin, of Gladwin; four sisters, Mrs. Doy Foor, Mrs. William Chatterton and Mrs. Clarence Walker, of Gladwin and Mrs. Ellen Burgess, of Beaverton; and 18 grandchildren.
