Myrtle A. O'Dell
Myrtle A. O'Dell (Carpenter-Phillips), 84, of Punta Gorda, Fla, and formerly of Davison, died Sunday, Dec. 21 at her home.
Born Feb 2, 1913 in Central Lake, she was the daughter of Ira and Nora Carpenter. She formerly worked for St. Joseph Hospital as a dietitian.
Myrtle married Floyd Phillips. He preceded her in death in March 1959. She then married Raymond O'Dell. She was a member of Richfield Church of the Nazarene.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Lewis Phillips of Gladwin, and Gerald and wife Mary Lou Phillips of Greenbush: one daughter, Marcella and husband Forrest Westfall of Gladwin; one brother, Glenn and wife Violet Carpenter of Roscommon; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Roy, and a daughter, Charlotte.
Services were held at 11 A.M. Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home in Davison with Rev. Frank LaLone officiating. Burial was in Davison Cemetery.
