Ernest C. Nunn
Ernest C. Nunn, 81, of Beaverton, died Thursday, October 12, at Clare Nursing
Home, following an extended illness. He was born in Beaverton Township, August 9, 1891, and lived
on or near the farm where he was born for the greater part of his life. Folling service in World
War I, in which he was wounded, he worked in city automobile plants for a time. He returned to
Beaverton Township and farmed for many years, and after retiring from the farm did masonary work.
Mr. Nunn and the former Winnie B. Thorington were married April 16, 1922 (Easter Sunday) in Gladwin
and she preceded him in death January 23, 1970. They were members of Daniel's Band Church and they
purchased the Old Stone School adn the building was used for the church for many years before it was
outgrown and the congregation moved to the present location.
Surviving are his son Jack of Beaverton; two brothers, Harold of Beaverton, and Raymond of Lansing;
10 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren. Five brothers are deceased. Services were held Monday at
2:00 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton with the Rev. Arthur Munger and Rev. Wesley Huggard
officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Gladw.
