Fred Nichol
Fred V. Nichol, 85, of 309 Curtis Rd., Coleman, died suddenly Monday, July
11, in the Midland Hospital. Born in Chatham, Ont., Can., on May 31, 1892, he moved to the
Coleman area in 1952, from Midland. Mr. Nichol was a retired Beaverton barber. He was a
veteran of World War I and was a member of the Beaverton American Legion and the Gladwin First
United Methodist Church. He and the former Inez Finney were married on September 6, 1952, in
Coleman.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 step-sons, Vernell Staley of Beaverton, Norris and
Bernard Staley of Coleman; 2 step-daughters, Mrs. Ardis Robinson and Mrs. Sandra Fassett of
Coleman; 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchidren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The
Rev. Donald Bates will officiate and burial will be in the Dale Cemetery.
