Irene Nestle
Irene Nestle, 90, of Gladwin passed away March 18, 2008 at Gladwin Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre following a long illness.
She was born in Gladwin Oct. 25, 1917 to Will and Mabel (Hall) Walker.
Irene married Roy D. Nestle on June 20, 1937 in Gladwin. He preceded her in death Oct. 11, 1986.
She retired as coowner/ operator for Gamble Store in Gladwin in 1969. She was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County and a member of First United Methodist Church in Gladwin. She was organist there for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Kay Reithel and Louise (Ronald) Pratt, both of Gladwin; two sons, Robert (Penny) Nestle of Mason and Harold (Cindy) Nestle of Rockford; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her parents; and one sister, Charlene Stevenson Hoffman.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 21, 2008 at First United Methodist Church in Gladwin with Rev. Linda Jo Powers officiating. She was laid to rest in Highland Cemetery in Gladwin.
