Gale Nelson

   Gale W. Nelson, 73, of Beaverton passed away Dec 30, 2006 at MidMichigan Gladwin Pines Nursing Home.

   Gale was born Feb. 22, 1933 to Cyril and Mildred (Gilmore) Nelson in Fife Lake. He was a teacher at the Sault Ste. Marie Public Schools retiring in 1991 after 28 years. He also worked as a customs officer at the international bridge in Sault Ste Marie. Gale was married to Nancy Kiernan for 20 years She survives him along with their daughters, Lori Nelson of Atlanta, Georgia, Sherry Nelson of Saginaw, Kelly Nelson of Orlando, Florida, and daughter and son-in-law, Shannon Nelson and Doug Peterson of Fairbanks, Alaska.

   Gale then married Judy Pelon on October 6, 1979 in Sault Ste. Marie. She also survives him along with a daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Randy Krakora of Westfield, Indiana, and their children: Grace, Larissa, and Evan; a sister, Carole and Len Kruska of Saginaw; brothers, Dwayne and Judy Nelson of Freeland, and Patrick and Jenny Nelson of Saginaw; and eight nieces and nephews He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Joyce Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007 at the Hall- Kokotovich Funeral Home 430 S. Ross St. Beaverton, Michigan from 2-9 p.m.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin.

   Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzhiemers Association or the American Diabetes Association.
