Orvel Myers
Orvel Keith Myers, 75, of Flint died Sunday, June 12, 2005 at his residence. He was born in Gladwin on April 23, 1930. He married LouEllen Briggs on March 30, 1953 in Huntington, Indiana. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Myers enjoyed the annual luncheon with the Retirees of the Grand Blanc, Fisher Body (BOC). He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2235. He was a most caring and loving husband to LouEllen. He was a wonderful doting father to his daughter, Lisa Marie Myers and he dearly loved being a grandfather to his grandson, Cody. Mr. Myers was employed by General Motors for 37 years.
Surviving are his wife, LouEllen; daughter, Lisa Marie Myers of Flint; grandson, Cody; many close and special nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 15 at the Swartz Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Smith officiating. Burial followed in Crestwood Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of VFW Post #822 Honor Guard. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association.
