John Mushong
John N. Mushong, 89, of Gladwin passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007 at the home of his daughter.
John was born April 5, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Teresa (Hipful) Mushong He married Martha Busha on June 7, 1941 in Bowling Green, Ohio.
John retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1972 after 25 years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Merchant Marines. He was a charter member of the Kirk In The Hills Church in Bloomfield Hills, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He came to Gladwin in 2000 from Beaver Island.
Surviving are his wife, Martha; two sons, Thomas Mushong of Walled Lake, and David (Terry) Mushong of Brighton; three daughters, Joan (Curtis) Petrak of Gladwin, Linda (Herb) Jones of Spokane, Washington, and Cinthya (John) Moore of West Bloomfield; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a half brother, Donald Tumele of Muskegon. He was predeceased by two half sisters and one half brother.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 at the Wagarville United Methodist Church. Curtis Petrak officiated. Sisson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
